We are grateful to be part of the vibrant, creative town of Todmorden and feel supported by our many friends here.
Todmorden welcomes many different people to the resources, community projects and events it has developed and ‘kindness’ has become the watchword for the town. There are music events, in pubs, cafes and the beautiful town hall, and a yearly music festival and book festival.
Todmorden is in the midst of the natural beauty of the hills, rivers and valleys of the Upper Calder Valley. It has a climbing wall, a sports centre and a swimming pool. It’s well connected to the shops, theatres and restaurants of Manchester (25 minutes,) and Leeds (55 minutes,) by train. A bus station also serves many other nearby towns including Hebden Bridge, another creative and innovative town just 4 miles down the road. Todmorden has 3 supermarkets, a thriving indoor and outdoor market and many independent shops, cafes and restaurants.
One of the key projects borne out of the values of Todmorden is Incredible Edible Todmorden; it is the original Incredible Edible town – a model which many others have replicated. IET are passionate people working together for a world where all share responsibility for the future wellbeing of our planet and ourselves.
IET aim to provide access to good local food for all, through
• working together
